  • 5 medium apples
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup gentle sweet
  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp citric acid
  • 1/8 tsp mineral salt
  • 3/4 tsp Xanthan gum or glucci



  • Cut apples into slices. Add to silicone microwaveable dish. I use my epicure steamer
  • Add 2 cups water and microwave for 5 mins. * (this is the quickest and easiest way)
  • Stir in remaining filling ingredients. Sprinkle the xanthan gum evenly in as you stir.
  • Mix all topping ingredients together, add 1/4 cup of water and then add a little more until crumble consistency, about 1/2 cup water.
  • Sprinkle crumble generously on top.
  • Bake at 375 for 25 - 30 minutes
  • Let cool completely to firm up the filling
  • Enjoy!



Be sure to add some protein, a 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt with 1-2 tsp of supersweet and a splash of vanilla makes this an extra delicious treat with protein and keeps it an E.
*You can also bring to a boil in a sauce pan and then follow the above directions. You will need to transfer the filling from a saucepan into an oven safe 8 x 8 square dish.
**Please do not broil in your epicure steamer, it is not meant to be cooked in past 425 degrees.
